We are proud to share that Monde Nissin has been recognized with a Special Citation for Obliged Enterprises (OE) at the 2026 EPR Recognition Program led by the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) and the Philippine Alliance for Recycling and Materials Sustainability (PARMS).
This recognition affirms our commitment to go beyond compliance with the Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) Act, in line with our aspiration of improving the well-being of people and the planet and creating sustainable solutions for food security.
The citation was based on our submission covering January 2023 to November 2025, which outlined how we applied EPR principles across reduction, recyclability, recovery, and social inclusion
Reducing Plastic at Source
From 2023 to November 2025, we reduced 176,000 kilograms of plastic through packaging redesign and efficiency improvements
Key initiatives included:
- Lightweighting and component removal in Monde Mamon, avoiding ~80 metric tons of plastic
- Eliminating garnish sachets in Lucky Me! Mini Go Cup, avoiding 96 metric tons of plastic in 2023
- Piloting resealable Salu-Salo packs with 25% plastic reduction at the outer packaging level
- Adopting lightweight EcoLean packaging for GoodNom Gata
Advancing Circularity
In 2024, 94% of our plastic packaging by volume was mono-material, bringing us closer to our 95% target by 2025
We also achieved 100% recovery and diversion of our obligated plastic footprint in both 2023 and 2024, including hard-to-recycle flexible plastics
Creating Shared Value
Through the Aling Tindera Program with PCX Markets and Hope, we integrated women micro-entrepreneurs into plastic recovery systems. In 2024 alone, the program recovered 600 metric tons of multi-layer plastics and generated PHP 1.5 million in incremental income for participants
This Special Citation reflects the collective efforts of our teams. More importantly, it reinforces our belief that responsible packaging and circular systems are essential to nourishing people today while safeguarding the planet for tomorrow.
